[text] Okay, I'm heading over. Bringing Luma. Let's see what we can do about that little troublemaker. [/text]

[txt]awesome! ill b waitin outside![txt]

Karril jumped out of the bed, his game he’d been playing clattering the floor, already forgotten, and dashed towards the front door. He slipped past the kitchen, glancing only for a second to check if his mother was there, and nearly got to the door before he heard her call him name.

"I’m not leaving," he muttered to answer he sharp, questioning tone. "Just going outside." Still he found her glancing out the front window every so often to make sure he was still sitting on the stairs. His hand gripped Godzilla’s pokeball tightly each time and wished Mayu would get here quick.

pkmn-trainer-karril:

Mayu gasped as Karril lead her out. She pulled slightly against his grip to look back at Abigail desperately. Karril lead her out of the house to the front porch where Luma was playing with Godzilla, getting the little Gible’s energy out. Arc was nowhere in sight.

"Karril!" Mayu looked back at the door. "We can’t just… You can’t… I… Uh…" She tightened her jaw. "I’m sorry, I made everything worse, I just wanted to—"

She ran her hands over her face. Of course Karril knew what she wanted to do. Her eyes wandered over to Luman and she sighed.

"… I uh… I’m sorry. Are you okay?"

Outside was a stark contrast to the living room: it was quiet, the sudden silence making his ears ring, and cold, unlike the heat from everyone’s unease and frustration inside the house. Karril let go of Mayu’s wrist as soon as the door closed behind them and he followed her gaze towards the two dragon jumping about the yard. He bit his lip and didn’t look back at his girlfriend. He wasn’t sure why she’d been trying to pull away when inside had only yelling and anger. Wouldn’t she have wanted to get away from it? Or did Mayu want them him and his mother to make up that bad? That she would put up with their screaming until they started talking civil? He ran a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, of course I’m alright," he said, although his voice came out louder and a bit more harsh than he intended - after effects of the fight with his mom. "I just…I know you wanted us to not fight and to come to some kinda agreement but I told you that’s what would happen! It always happens like that!" His voice was rising again and he quickly shut his mouth. "I mean, I’ll figure it out later." He glanced at the door, still avoiding Mayu’s eyes. It hadn’t opened yet, and Karril took it as a sign that his mom knew they’d continue that "talk" later.

"It’s okay. Yeah, she’s gonna be madder later, but you started….you started making a face kinda like that one time I fought with your dad and..I don’t know…" He shifted on his feet. "I just thought it’d be better if you didn’t have to keep hearing us yell or anything."

Mayu raised her eyebrows. Karril had seen her scared and taken her out… Was she that obvious? However, Karril had interpreted her fear wrong. She thought back to the fight between Karril and her dad. It’s true, she was just as nervous and scared then. She smiled lightly.

"Karril, you know that the way my dad acts isn’t your fault, right? So he’s a jerk. And he scares me sometimes. But him being a bad father isn’t in any way your fault. In fact, you stood up to him! Honestly, I think that if you hadn’t, I’d still be stuck at home, no training, completely miserable… So don’t feel bad about that, okay?"

She bit her lip and looked down at her lap. All of the sudden, she felt terrified. This was the moment she had to bring it up. All this time, she had been avoiding the subject, but now, there wasn’t any other place to take it. If she changed the subject now, she’d never have another chance.

"It’s uh… No, it wasn’t about that."

Momma, why does dad keep talking about Korrel...? He says he hates Korrel lots, but hating is bad!

"Because… Daddy and Karril have never gotten along. Me getting with your dad definitely… didn’t help… Like, at all. Whoops.

But hating is bad. VERY bad. Don’t hate Karril. Don’t hate anyone. Hating is bad.

… You know what’s not bad? Making paper snowflakes! Let’s do that instead! Ahaha… ha…”

How come dad doesn't wanna wear flannel?

"See, when your dad and I got together, everyone assumed he wore flannel shirts all the time, like me. Really, he doesn’t that much… Unless he’s matching me. Because we’re cute like that. Your parents are ADORABLE.

Besides, then there’s more for you and me, kiddo!”

Raise the Stakes— Vampire Hunter AU (Closed w/ Snow)

"Why exactly are you here for me?" The teen figured getting straight to the point would make it easier for the other to understand. "I mean, I haven’t hurt many people, I don’t see myself as that big of a threat to your human race." Blood graced his lips as he tiled the glass up to his mouth. His eyes flashed red before returning to normal. "I mean, I’m fine with animal blood… For a while… Do you even know what you’re doing?" Snow tilted his head, his eyes staring right into hers. "Or are you a sacrifice for me?"

"I am not a sacrifice for anyone!" Mayu said in surprise, gripping the stake still clutched in her hand. The flashing red eyes certainly didn’t help with the girl’s nerves. "And I… you haven’t hurt many people?" Mayu pursed her lips. This was unusual. A vampire that hasn’t hurt many people? On the surface, it really didn’t seem like a bad thing.

"Well, my dad says that Vampires who aren’t feeding on humans are like a ticking time bomb. It’s only a matter of time before they do. He says to get them before they kill someone. I’m here to save lots of people, and to make a name for myself in my family. We’re all vampire hunters, or at least, my dad is, and my uncle and cousin. That’s all there really is in my family, besides my mom, so basically, we’re all vampire hunters. I want to be one too!"

"Not a lot as I could have. I try to limit myself." Snow smiled, huge, sharp canines fully visible to this mockery of a vampire hunter. "Oh, you’re the black sheep, you say?" His smile turned back to a frown as he leaned back in his chair. "Well then, that seems like quite the issue. You’re father seems to be wrong." Crossing his legs, the immortal teen swished his drink around some more. "Not all of us want to kill humans… Me? I’ve honestly only killed 3. The rest, I don’t drink dry. That isn’t proper, anyways. So, are you going to kill a vampire whom hasn’t committed purposeful crimes? Or do you even know where to hit with that stake?"

Mayu looked down at the stake. “I totally know where to hit… Uh… the heart?” She immediately started second guessing herself. Was it the heart? Or the head? Or was that zombies? Did zombies even exist? Could she hunt zombies? She shook the thoughts out of her head.

"I dunno! What if you’re lying? You could be telling me that you’ve never killed so you can lower my guard and eat me or something! Well you’re not going to lower my guard Mr… uh… Vampire boy!" She growled. "No more distractions! I have to hunt you now! So prepare to get staked!" She lifted the stake over her head, as if striking some sort of heroic pose.

It was a dreary, rainy day in the city of Lumiose, most people deciding to stay in their homes to avoid the cold rain drenching their spirits and clothes. A chill ran through the air, causing the few people out to turn up their collars and hurry to somewhere warm.

All except two girls, however; One nineteen, the other seventeen.

The older of the two was a dark skinned, white haired girl, with dull green eyes, and a faint scar, that ran from the left side of her throat, and up, curving wickedly and stopping on the right side of her mouth. She wore an old, slightly ragged, slightly burnt leather jacket, a dark brown. For pants, she wore black jeans, that were in a similar state to her jacket, and heavy black boots. On her left hand was a simple black glove. She carried a light green satchel, weighed down with several books, two changes of clothing, eight Pokeballs, a medikit, and three bottles of water, her only posessions in the world.

The other was a light skinned, blue haired, heterochromic ball of energy and happy. Her hair was messy, a violent shade of blue. Her left eye was green, her right eye purple. She wore a blue tank top, and a dark blue skirt, jumping in every single puddle that she came across, splashing herself and anyone near her. Occasionally, she’d pull a handful of confetti out of her bag, throwing it into the air, or she’d pull a cookie out of an unseen pocket, nibble on it, and return it.

Despite the erratic nature of her companion, the older of the two walked with a purpose, although not too much. She walked in such a way that didn’t require too much concentration or effort, her feet carrying her forward at a relaxed, steady pace, her eyes fixed on a point ahead, a simple cafe. Soon arriving, the two took a seat inside, the blue haired girl flailing every so often, ordering every cookie in the place, with a side of cinnamon rolls. The white haired girl simply ordered a water, as she stared out the window. She seemed… Distracted. Which was saying something, considering her companion was cheerfully saying hello to everyone who passed her, inside or out. She hardly even noticed when the girl shot up, waving wildly and running out to say hello to a passerby.

Despite the terrible weather, Mayu had chosen to go all the way to Lumiose to get Galettes. She strolled the streets peacefully, popping yet another into her mouth. The amount of galettes she could eat in one go was astonishing. The cool weather only served the girl’s outfit better: tattered jean shorts, and a colorful tucked in flannel shirt with a vest over it. Her hair, a nest of brown waves, was tamed— at least a little bit— by a black newsboy hat.

At her side was her Fennekin, Arc, who was in a better mood than he usually was these days. Today had been relatively stress-free, and Mayu had stayed out of trouble, so he was in good spirits.

"You want one?" Mayu offered to Arc, who shook his head silently. "Fine, your loss— Oh!"

She stopped when she noticed someone waving at her. Instantly smiling, she waved back with eager enthusiasm.

"Hello, stranger!"

The girl skidded to a halt in front of Mayu, looking up at her with a wide, cheery grin.
"Hiya!" She chirped, offering the girl a cookie.
"Here!" She prodded it against the girl, her way of offering food.

"I’m Sky Blue!" She said, posing with her hands on her hips, and her chest puffed up.
"Cookiewitch and traveller! And who are you?" She asked. The girl’s companion, the woman with white hair, looked up, watching Sky and Mayu blankly, ready to jump into action and drag Sky away should the need arise.

Mayu blinked for a second, looking at this girl poking her in the chest with a cookie.

"Cookie… witch…" Mayu gasped. "That’s so cool! That’s a thing?! Woah!” She took the cookie and smiled warmly. “Hi! My name is Mayu Cupal. I’m a traveller, too! I’m a trainer, too. I’m going to beat all the gyms! And this,” She pointed down to her Fennekin, “is my friend, Arc.”

The girl squealed excitedly, dropping to her knees and offering him a Pokemon-friendly cookie.
"Here!" She chirped, cheerfully.
"I’ve never seen a Fennekin before!" She gently scratched behind his ears, then jumped to her feet, smiling brightly. She reached into her bag, pulling out a cookie for her to eat. Her bag was cream coloured, with coloured tips, and stylised teeth along it’s zipper. When she opened it, the zipper was deep, like a growl.

"So, hello!" She said, cheerfully.
"I’m Sky. Are you new to Lumiose? Do you need a guide or something?" She tilted her head to the side, smiling innocently.

Despite Arc’s “pride”, he closed his eyes in contentment when Sky scratched his ears. Mayu laughed jovially.

"He’s very thankful. I am too!" She chewed on the cookie, humming in satisfaction. "That’s really good, Sky! I was actually here to get galettes, but I found something way better. I’ve pased through Lumiose a few times for gym training, and ice cream. I’m actually about to start work at a cafe somewhere around here! Soon I’ll be the one giving out cookies!" She laughed again, running her hands through her hair. "So I don’t need a guide, but I always love company!"

She continued to work at the cookie, savouring the taste. “By the way,” she mumbled, making sure not to look too gross with her mouth full of cookie,”you have a really cool bag.”

Sky took a bite of a cookie, opened her mouth to reply, and let out a mouthful of smoke.
"Oop!" Sky threw the cookie away, as it burst into flames, and quickly put itself out.
"Failed experiment." Sky said, content to explain like that.
"And thank you!" She giggled.
"Just make sure not to give out…" She shuddered.
Raisin cookies.”

Seemingly comfortable enough with Mayu, Sky took her wrist.
"Come on, you can meet my half sister kinda!" She chirped, dragging Mayu into the cafe, with surprising strength for someone so thin. The dark-skinned girl looked up to see her pale friend and her cargo. She let out a quiet sigh.
"Sorry about her." The girl said, her voice coming out like a quiet grunt.
"She doesn’t understand politeness. Sky, let the girl go." She said, impatiently. Sky happily released Mayu, and skipped up to the counter.

"Oh, no, it’s completely okay!" Mayu said warmly. "I was the exact same way when I was her age. Really, I am right the same way right now!" She joked, laughing.

"Anyways, it’s nice to meet you, too! I’m Mayu. And this is Arc." She pointed down to her Fennekin. "We’re trainers, and we’re on break to get ice cream. Well, we were, but now we’re doing something way better; meeting you guys!"

"Mayu. What a nice name." His eyes focused on the cup in hand, completely ignoring what she said about hunting him. "And I’m afraid the door will have to be fixed at a time that I can bother to care about it." Another sigh came from the teen. "You’re hear to hunt me, hmm? Not really a proper sentence, if I do say so myself. You should quit your day job and stay in school." Snow chuckles as he looks up at her. "But I jest. Sit, please. Talk to me. It gets quite lonely here."

"Oh! Thank you! I’ve always liked the na— Hey!" Mayu’s face flushed in embarrassment. She had a task to do, and she was getting distracted! The vampire boy continued to poke fun at her.

"O-Oh… Uh…" She hesitated for a moment, before coming over to the kitchen. Maybe… if he could lower his guard… She could get him when he didn’t expect it. But she couldn’t lower hers. Or else he’d try to bite her.

She sat down in the kitchen in a stool, and watched him stiffly.

"U-um…"

"Why exactly are you here for me?" The teen figured getting straight to the point would make it easier for the other to understand.
